Roads are getting a lot of attention in Belvidere these days; specifically, the roads around the Belvidere Chrysler plant.
In light of Chrysler’s expansion, city and state leaders continue to map out plans for improving traffic flow in the area.
Arc Design resources turned over a preliminary report on improvements to the state and the city Tuesday. Suggestions include two new entrances to the Chrysler plant off Townhall Road, widening the intersection at U.S. 20 and Townhall Road and adding more turn lanes.
The Illinois Department of Transportation will review those suggestions. Plans are expected to be approved by the end of May.
Construction could start as early as July.
