A Harlem School District bus driver will receive a written reprimand for leaving a kindergartner asleep on a bus after finishing her afternoon route.
Superintendent John Hurley says the driver drove a busload of students home from the Parker Early Education Center. The driver missed the child's stop, finished the route and returned the bus to the district's bus garage.
The child's grandfather called school officials to find out where his grandson was.
School officials searched the bus and found the child asleep. The grandfather picked up the child and drove him home.
Hurley refused to name the student or the bus driver, and says the driver won't be suspended or fired.
