About noon Tuesday, 39-year-old Charles Reece showed up at the police station with a cardboard box. He told dispatchers he thought he had an explosive device.
Since he was already holding the box, he was asked to take it back outside to the parking lot. The bomb squad was then called in.
Bomb Techs determined it was the insides of a grenade along with a live blasting cap. Reece told police he was cleaning out his garage Tuesday morning when he found the device.
