CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (AP) -- Illinois will try to get its first Big Ten win and start salvaging its season when its hosts Michigan tonight in Champaign.
The Illini are 0-and-4 in the Big Ten and 8-and-9 overall. They're coming off a close-but-not-good-enough 62-58 loss at 11th-ranked Indiana on Sunday. Illinois has lost five in a row, including its last three home games.
Michigan might be just what the doctor ordered for the Illini.
The Wolverines are in their first season under coach John Beilein (BEE'-line), and they're 1-and-3 in the conference but just 5-and-11 overall.
Michigan ended its own five-game losing streak Saturday with a 78-68 win at Northwestern.
Illinois guard Chester Frazier sat out the Indiana game with rib and back injuries and is expected to miss his third straight start.
