Blagojevich Names All New Members for Gaming Board

The five-member board hasn't been able to conduct business since August because three unfilled vacancies left it one member short of a quorum.

Blagojevich says three of his new appointments are effective Monday. That would allow the board to resume work. The other two appointments would take effect in July.

The appointees include retired Cook County Judge Aaron Jaffe, who would become chairman, and Southern Illinois University law professor Sheila Simon, daughter of the late U.S. Sen. Paul Simon.

Also, the Rev. Eugene Winkler of Chicago; Charles Gardner, who manages a real estate investment company; and Joe Moore, Jr., manager of community relations for Shell Oil Company.
