There are new details about a lawsuit that a former school principal filed against school Superintendent Dr. Dennis Thompson.
Last Thursday in federal court, former Lewis Lemon Principal Tiffany Parker filed the lawsuit. This all stems from a situation at Lewis Lemon School.
A few months ago the district implemented a balanced literacy reading program. Lewis Lemon had been using direct instruction. Shortly after the directed change Parker was transferred to another school.
Last month the district hired attorneys to investigate whether Lewis Lemon's 2003 test scores were altered.
In the lawsuit, Parker filed eight different counts against Thompson. The lawsuit states that Parker suffered adverse employment action and is placed in false light before the public.
