Information is released on the damage caused by the tornado that touched down in Northern Boone County, Monday. The Boone County Sheriff's Office says four people were injured, the most serious being Jeannette Nichols.
Right now she's in serious condition at St. Anthony's Medical Center with broken bones and a punctured lung. Her 12 year old grandson, Dustin has been released from the hospital.
Their home in Poplar Groove is one of four to be destroyed. Authorities say four other homes sustained major damage, nine more minor damage. While 38 other structures like garages were slightly damaged. Nine cars were smashed and one horse was killed.
The Sheriff's Office also told us more than 100 cars an hour are driving down some of the streets where most of the damage occurred causing the roads to crumble.
A major clean up effort will take place this Saturday. Volunteers are being asked to meet at the Poplar Grove Fire Station on Route 173 at 8 am.
