The Harlem School Board will vote on over half a million dollars worth of budget cuts later this month.

The district is currently $3 million in the red. Superintendent Dr. Pat Deluca is recommending the board cut just over $553,000. The board however is expected to only cut $525,000. The final vote will take place March 29.

The board is still debating a proposed pay increase for administrators and restoring the school's math and world youth science and engineering academic teams, which allow gifted students to compete in academic contests.
