Miss Illinois Injured in Accident

Miss Illinois remains in serious condition at a Peoria hospital Wednesday with injuries received in a car accident in Woodford County.

Authorities said Michelle LaGroue of Naperville was hurt when her car went through a stop sign and was hit by another at an intersection of two highways near Roanoke. That's about 22 miles east of Peoria.

Officials at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria said the 22-year-old LaGroue suffered a closed head injury and a large cut on her head.
