The deal announced Monday involves a business that employs about 800 people, mostly at a plant in Freeport, Illinois. It makes tires used on tractors and other farm machinery.
Goodyear spokesman Ed Markey says the deal with Titan must be approved by federal regulators and by members of the United Steelworkers of America.
Markey says the new owner will decide how workers are affected. A message left seeking comment from Titan officials wasn't immediately returned.
