Beginning January 1st, consumers can apply for coupons to cover some of the costs of equipment upgrade for the digital switch set to take place February 17th 2009. This means those who use rabbit ears or do not have a digital T.V. set will have to make the necessary adjustments. Digital transmission offers better picture and sound and will allow for more channels. If you are a cable subscriber with an analog T.v. your cable provider is required to convert the digital signal for you. Those interested in the coupons can apply by calling (888) 388-2009 or by logging on to www.dtv2009.gov
