Next month, Ogle County board members will vote on a controversial proposal to build a more than $20 million INS detention center in Oregon, with county tax dollars.
At an Ogle County board meeting Tuesday, board member Doug Zeule made a motion to reject the proposal and terminate any agreements between the county and the INS. This came after residents grilled an INS official for about an hour, but didn't get the answers they wanted.
County sheriff's officials say more time is needed to gather answers, and a decision on the issue is premature.
