The North End Commons Association released how they would like to see the North Main and Auburn intersection designed. Members of the North End Commons Association voted earlier this week on five different options.
Overwhelming support went out to the modern roundabout design. Other plans would have destroyed 24 businesses; the roundabout only would knock down six local establishments. Conserving the area is important to the group along with proper construction.
The major part of this project that's missing is the funding. In January, legislators will work on a transportation budget that would find money for this project.
A meeting has been set up for December 8, 2004 at 6:30 p.m. at Walker School to talk about the roundabout.
