Provided by Illinois Republican Party Statement from Illinois Republican Party Chairman Andy McKenna
regarding the death of Congressman Henry Hyde:

"Today we mourn the passing of a legend. Chairman Henry Hyde’s faith in God, his dedication to family and his devotion to the people he served will always be a reminder of what is good and true in politics.
"Chairman Hyde will be forever missed, but the man and his achievements and his good work will always set the highest standard for anyone in public service.
"Henry practiced the politics of substance, the politics of people. Though he worked with members of Congress on both sides of the aisle, Chairman Hyde never compromised his principles or his belief that government should be smaller and work with families, not against them.
"Throughout his decades of public service, Chairman Hyde was respected not only for his steadfast belief in conservative ideals but also his belief that the United States was a beacon of hope and democracy around the world.
"The thoughts and prayers of Mary and I are with the Hyde family during this difficult time."
