MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Holiday tree or Christmas tree?
A decision about what to call the tree being decorated in the state Capitol rotunda is keeping your legislators busy in Madison today.
It's been called the holiday tree since 1985 when proponents argued the term was more inclusive for all religions that celebrate the holidays in different ways.
Others say it's political correctness that's gone too far.
Democratic Representative Marlin Schneider of Wisconsin Rapids wants the name returned to the "state of Wisconsin Christmas tree" and says that doesn't necessarily represent a religion.
The Assembly Committee on State Affairs is holding a hearing this afternoon.
