The nation's retailers are on edge this Christmas Eve. They're hoping a big surge in last-minute Christmas spending will help them meet holiday projections.
The final days before Christmas, as well as those after the holiday, have become increasingly important for retailers, boosted in part by gift card sales, but they can't count those until they're redeemed.
