Sharpshooting to Stop Spread of CWD in WI

By  |

The DNR will start shooting deer in about a week on land where it's received permission.

Sharpshooters will head out at night in Dane, Iowa, Kenosha, Racine, Rock and Richland Counties.

The dead deer will be tested and disease-free carcasses will be donated to food pantries.

The DNR will also use traps next month near urban areas of Rock, Kenosha and Racine counties. Deer caught in the traps will be killed.
