Healthy Counties

MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Two suburban counties outside Milwaukee -- Ozaukee and Waukesha -- are rated in a new study as the two healthiest in the state.

Pat Remington is director of the Population Health Institute at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and he says it's no surprise that those two happen to be among the wealthiest counties.

He says being better educated and having more money improves the likelihood of having healthier behaviors, better health care and eventually better overall health.

The fifth annual study again ranked Menominee County, home of the Menominee Tribe, as the least healthiest in the state, followed by the city of Milwaukee.
