A new machine is called the da Vinci Surgical System. Urologists use it to perform minimally invasive prostatectomies. The robotic machine translates surgeons hand movements into more precise movements using tiny instruments, resulting in smaller incisions on the patient and a quick recovery.
Among other things, the surgery is also supposed to result in less pain, scarring, and a reduced risk of infection.
