Voters in the Byron School District are being asked to pass a 56.5 cent tax increase for the district's education and building fund.
Voting yes on the Byron Referendum would cost the owner of a home valued at $100,000 about $188 more a year.
The current tax rate in Byron, $3.01, is the lowest in Ogle County. If the referendums pass, the rate would jump to $3.58, but would still be the lowest in the area.
