Obama in Republican Stronghold; Keyes Downstate

By  |

Obama is greeting voters in suburban Republican strongholds like Wheaton and Bensenville Wednesday.

Republican Alan Keyes is downstate visiting GOP offices in Peoria, Bloomington and Springfield.

Obama says he believes he can get votes anywhere with a message on practical issues like jobs and education, but Keyes says his commitment to moral issues will help him connect with voters both downstate and in the suburbs.

The two are competing for the seat held by retiring GOP Sen. Peter Fitzgerald.
