Almost 2,300 people filled the Coronado Theatre to watch Republican candidate Jim Ryan and Democratic candidate Rod Blagojevich square off at the Gubernatorial debate.

During the debate, the audience had very strict rules such as there was to be no talking or clapping after any comments. Those who attended say they were listening for Ryan and Blagojevich to respond to issues such as the budget and the job market. Ryan supporters say his performance helped re-affirm their vote. They said Ryan came across well and they were glad to see him separate himself from the George Ryan scandal.

As for Blagojevich, supporters they say Ryan completely talked around many important issues such as higher job pay and better health care. Blagojevich supporters say he was the winner saying that he really addresses the issues and answered the questions.
