Local artist Keith Skaggs unveiled a portrait to Rockford firefighters that he designed to commemorate the tragedies of Sept. 11.
The painting he says took him nearly two months to complete. The idea behind it was to provide unity after the tragedies and capture what came out of the ashes. Instead of being reminded solely of the violence.
The painting will be showcased at the fire departments administration building in a couple weeks after they get it framed.
