Today Jackson Katz spoke to an audience at the University of Illinois College of Medicine. Katz is a well known violence educator he says it's important for non-abusive men to stand up and join in on the fight against domestic violence.
"My work is not about working with offenders or perpetrators, it's working with all men especially men that see themselves as good guys and no abusive guys. How can they and how can we be strong sort of voices for non-violence and challenge other men's leadership and other men's behavior."
One of the first steps to eliminating violence in homes, Katz says, is to raise consciousness about how wide spread it is and educate people on what can be done.
