Demand for Workers to Be Strong in Rock County

Workforce Development chief economist Terry Ludeman says demand for workers will grow at an alarming rate. Ludeman says there will be far more jobs than people to fill them.

The state predicts six south-central counties will grow by 180,000 jobs in the next 25 years, but the labor force will grow by 110,000.

Madison area unemployment is 2.3 percent. That's the sixth lowest among the nation's 331 larger metropolitan areas.
