Anthony Piccarilli has only been with the Roscoe Police Department for about two years.
Recently, the Roscoe Village Board cleared Piccarilli from an investigation. Anthony Piccarilli says he's leaving to pursue other career opportunities. He's been in law enforcement for almost thirty years and says Thursday's resignation is just a timing issue and nothing else.
Early Thursday afternoon, Roscoe Police Chief Anthony Piccarilli turned in his resignation. His history in law enforcement started in Rockford in 1979. Then two years ago he made the move to Roscoe. Piccarilli says he felt he's put the department back on track but has a better experience to take on.
His resignation is effective immediately and the search for a new Chief is already underway.
