Hepburn Papers

Curator Bob Taylor says the library's archivists are still going through the papers, 22 boxes' worth, which include scripts, photos, letters and scrapbooks.

Taylor says the materials will be indexed by early February, at which point members of the public will be able to check them out and read them.

One of the items is Hepburn's typewritten account of the time she and her driver were pulled over for speeding in Blackwell, Oklahoma; in typically tart fashion, Hepburn calls the strapping young patrol officer a "moron" and a "dumbbell."

Hepburn died in 2003 at the age of 96. The papers donated to the library are from Hepburn's theatrical career; her movie-related papers have been donated to the Motion Picture Academy.
