Consumer protection administrator Janet Jenkins says 89 consumers have filed complaints against Best Buy during the last two years.
The complaints allege false advertising and misrepresentation, unauthorized credit card charges and no recourse after buying faulty products, among other things.
Jenkins says when customers tried to resolve their problems with Best Buy, they blew them off. When the state got involved, the many of the complaints were resolved, but not all of them.
The investigation has been forwarded to prosecutors for possible enforcement action.
