Rockford Police Arrest 130 People During Safety Checks

Rockford police arrest 130 people during traffic safety checks this week at 10 different locations.

Police say 97 people were arrested for speeding, including 69 for speeding through a residential area. Three people were arrested for driver’s license violations and another six arrests were made for insurance violations.

Police also made several arrests for city sticker violations and failure to wear a seat belt. The most serious speed violations were 60-miles-per-hour in a 30-mile-per hour residential zone.
