A Rockford man was kidnapped Wednesday night and two suspects are on the loose.

Police say 23-year-old Anthony Jones was forced into the back seat of a car at Andrews and Forest by two black men. One was armed with a handgun and the other with a shotgun. The pair drove Jones around for about an hour before putting him in the trunk of the car. The suspects then drove to the 300 block of Cameron where a relative of Jones spotted the car.

Thirty-three-year old Burnell Hopson fired shots at them as they fled. Jones was then discovered unharmed in the trunk of the car. Hopson is charged with unlawful use of a weapon.

Police say they're looking for two black men who are 5’11” and 160 pounds. The two suspects fled on foot.
