Two male suspects entered Braodway Food and Liquor at 2710 Broadway just before 10 p.m. Thursday night. Each one was armed with a handgun. One of the men hit the clerk over the head with a pistol. The men then took cash from the register. Before fleeing the scene, the two men also took money from a customer who was about to enter the store. The clerk was injured but is said to be in good condition. The customer was not harmed. Rockford police say this was just a random act of violence.

Sgt. Steve Perry with the Rockford Police Department says, "Broadway Food and Liquors is well lit with video security inside. Things like this are prone to happen and there's nothing the business did wrong to cause this to occur."

The first suspect is a black male with a mid sixed afro. He is described as being about 20 years old and was last seen wearing a white shirt and a black hooded shirt.

The second suspect is also a male, 5'6" tall and weighs 150 pounds. He was last seen wearing all black clothing.

Anyone with any information is asked to call Rockford Police or Crimestoppers.
