ROCKFORD (WIFR) - Rockford's On the Waterfront Festival officially kicked off last night. Adam Lambert is tonight's headliner. The concert starts at 10 PM. Gates open at this hour. And tomorrow, from American Idol to Billy Idol - Billy Idol plays at 9 PM. Dot-Dot-Dot will open at 7 PM. A lot of people are visiting the festival today after a chilly one last night. Some say they are happy the festival lowered admission prices.
"People need to be able to afford something where they can enjoy to get their minds off of what's going on in the world right now and what is going on in our city as far as the economy right now," says Lynn Penix.
If you're not a music fan, there are plenty of other things to do. This year's newest experience is the "Wow Ball." It's a device that allows us to walk on water.

Remember...waterfront can turn the music way up because it's funded by city money. Just don't turn your music up in your car or you will be paying the city some money
