SPRINGFIELD (WIFR) -- Illinois Governor Pat Quinn is defending his administration's handling of over-hauling the state's lottery system.

Right now Illinois is going through the process of giving management control of its $2 billion dollar lottery business to a private company.

Some watch-dog groups are critical of Quinn saying he's been too secretive during the selection process.

They point to the administration's refusal to name all the companies that bid for the 10 year contract.

Quinn, however, argues that the state has followed the law "to the tee" and believes in vigorous competition.

Quinn is expected to pick a winner on September 15th.

Anything a government does in secret has the smell of CORRUPTION to it. If it's all above board then let the public see it and let US decide!
