ROCKFORD (WIFR) --Two men are in jail this morning after barricading themselves in a home last night on Rockford's West side.
It all started Thursday night just before 10:00 p.m. at 1817 Auburn Street, police say, a Ellsworth Dismuke and Kevin Croom broke into the home and then held officers at bay for over four hours.
Police negotiators were called to talk with the man and residents in the area were evacuated until they turned themselves over to officers just before 1:30 a.m. Friday morning.
The two men are being charged with burglary.
The home belongs to David Barber, 67, of Rockford who was arrested last month for possession of a military grenade. Early August police also found hundreds of guns in Barber's home. Barber is out on bond.

What a waste of officers time - lets see 20 officers * $40 an hour (probably average with the supervisors out there) - So $800 in labor, then throw in another $200 for the vehicles gas, maintenance, etc (looked like an army in the video) these two guys cost the city $1000 easily. They should recoup the money through fines, etc, which I hope is the process.
Hey Dan if the comment was all in caps I didn't realize it because that is not how I type my comments but even if it was my freedom of speech should not be dictated by whether it is in caps or not, I'm never yelling only voicing an opinion. As for Chell you got your answer from Dan Stone as to where it is at and for your information my comments are never racist only the truth, if you perceive them as racist then that is your problem I have members of my family who are black and I never spew out racist stuff just the truth and if it is so hard for you to understand then you are the one with the problem. I don't believe in this world that everyone is not racist in one shape or form but being a good person that abides by laws and does the right thing in life and who has opinions whether you agree or not does not make me racist.
Rev. Brown, this is a true testament of how the police react! If you don't go for a cops weapon, you will walk out alive! I hope mrs. dismuke, will take note of all these family members,who are taking a toll on us taxes payers, Please return any money from your lawsuits against the city, cause we cant afford your families criminal careers.
