UPDATE: Child Shot in Rockford
A 7-year-old is in the hospital this morning after police say she was shot while playing outside.

ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- A 7 year-old Rockford girl was shot last night while she was playing outside and stuck in the cross-fire of a shoot out.

It happened at about 7:00 p.m. in the 1500 Block of Birch Court, in the Blackhawk Housing Complex. The girl was shot in the arm, police say, her injuries are serious but not life-threatening.

Police have no one in custody and officers describe the suspects as two black men.

again, I'm talking about the parents of the stupid gangbangers.The Parent taught the gangbangers anger and killing.(what you see in your house is what you do) I'm not talking bad about the girl or the mother.I feel uppset because they shot a innocent girl and both the mom and the girl are suffering. I never said anything about a certain race.

At least the cops are ridding the hood of those dangerous hookers. It's much safer than going after the thug gunslingers!

You all need to get off of the race card and location. A 7-year old got shot for playing outside because 2 idiots decided to shot at each other. How is this relected on the mother she had nothing to do with it. This could of happened in any neighborhood in this city. It has nothing to do with government checks, link or anything. You all need to be concerned about the welfare of this child, what did she do to deserve this.
