Village Reacts to IEPA Fine for Sewage Spill
Rockton leaders react to an IEPA fine for a raw sewage leak into the Rock River.

ROCKTON (WIFR)-- Rockton leaders are speaking out against the IEPA fining the Village for leaking raw sewage into the Rock River.
The citation states a power outage in mid July caused the pump system to fail, and ultimately spill sewage into the river at the Hawick Street lift station.
Village President Dale Adams believes the pump did not fail and will have engineers look into the issue.
Rockton was fined twice in the past for pump failures.
Adams says vandalism caused the pumps to fail in both cases.
