Harsher DUI Laws

Lawmakers are giving more power to the Secretary of State to punish those who drive under the influence. Now hearings for offenders can be held even if the arresting officer doesn't show.

If you're convicted of four or more DUI's you will lose your license forever. If you're 21 and get a DUI out of state your Illinois license can still be revoked and anyone charged with a DUI will have an ignition interlock device, that checks the amount of alcohol in your system before you can even start a car.
