Daley, Pastors Question Keyes' Reference to Jesus During Campaign

By  |

Daley reacted Wednesday to Republican candidate Alan Keyes' assertion that Jesus wouldn't vote for Barack Obama because of votes the Democratic state senator has taken on several abortion-related bills.

Daley says Keyes' decision to bring Jesus into the Senate race is laughable, and the mayor jokingly speculated that the Republicans might have a hotline to Jesus that allows him to know how the son of God would vote.

The Reverend James Demus the Third of Park Manor Christian Church adds that ministers work for Jesus and "didn't get the memo" that Keyes is the one they should be listening to.
