ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- A lot of people don’t realize that our local teachers actually pay for their own classroom supplies. Today, a Nashold Elementary School teacher is getting some major help stocking up.
Today, Office Max surprised 4th grade teacher Joel Koehler with $1,000 worth of school supplies. That’s how much the average teacher pays out of their own pocket to keep their classrooms stocked. Today’s donation is part of their “Day Made Better” campaign.
“I might be recognized for it, but all our teachers have contributed to this effort and our principal showed a lot of leadership in it too. Without them, the things that we dream about will never come true,” Koehler said.
Nashold Elementary will also get a donation to help out other teachers in need.
