BELVIDERE (WIFR) -- A 10-hour stand-off in Belvidere Monday morning ended peacefully with six people arrested.

Belvidere Police Chief Jan Noble says it started with shot fired at a home around 11:00 Sunday night in the 1000 block of Strawberry Lane. Officers spotted the car that was said to be used in the shooting outside a home on Wayne Street.

Six people were inside that home but wouldn't come out. After six hours of negotiations, four people surrendered. The SWAT team was called around 9:00 Monday morning and a flash bomb device was deployed forcing the remaining suspects out.

Police are investigating whether the standoff is connected to three gang-related drive-by shootings from the weekend.
