ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- One person is sent to the hospital after a fire on Rockford's west side.
The Red Cross is helping a family of four after emergency crews say they woke up to find their house on fire. Firefighters were called to the 700 block of Kent Street Tuesday morning around 5:30p.m. When they arrived flames and smoke were coming out of the back of the home. The cause of the fire is unknown, but damage estimates come in at around $60,000. One of the residents was taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation. No firefighters were hurt.
