40-Year-Old Completes Eagle Scout Project

STATELINE (WIFR) -- Hundreds of boy scouts across the Stateline achieve the impressive rank of Eagle Scout every year, but that accomplishment is especially impressive for one local man.

Shad Ahlensdorf is a resident at Milestone. He's been a boy scout virtually all his life, but today he presented his final Eagle Scout project to Klehm Arboretum. Shad decided to build picnic tables. Under boy scout rules he had to completely oversee the project from start to finish. We got the chance to speak with Milestone's CEO, who says the whole staff is proud,.

“It's been exciting for Shad, and it's been exciting for all of us, and he's made it. He's accomplished so many great accomplishments, I believe he has 43 badges in his scout endeavor, and he's very, very close to achieving his ultimate achievement, which is becoming an Eagle Scout,” said Shawn Way, CEO of Milestone.

Usually a boy scout must complete his project by age 18, but the organization has made an exception.
