WINNEBAGO (WIFR) -- It's graduation day for a bunch of ten year old students who completed a ten week program concentrating on the dangers of drug use.
After a three year absence Officer Tim McGinness was back to lead the Drug Abuse Resistance Education or DARE Program at Winnebago's McNair Elementary School. Thursday night over 100 fifth grade students were able to walk on stage and grab their DARE diploma.
23 News Anchor Mike Garrigan fortunate enough to be invited as the guest speaker for the packed event at the Winnebago High Shool cafetorium.
The DARE Program was eliminated in 2009 due to budget cuts. But the Winnebago PTO raised the $3,000 needed to save the program this year.
