ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- A Rockford man shot and killed by police officers earlier this month has been laid to rest.
Dozens of friends and family members gathered at Collins and stone funeral home to say goodbye to Demetrius Bennett.
As you may recall, police were called to Bennett’s home for domestic reasons when he allegedly charged at them with a steak knife. Four officers fired at him. The Winnebago County Integrity Task Force is still trying to determine if the shooting was justified.
