17% Of Illinois Corn Crop Planted

ST. LOUIS (AP) -- The Department of Agriculture says just 17 percent of the Illinois corn crop has been planted this spring.

The USDA's latest update says 28 percent of the nation's cornfields are sown, compared to a five-year average of 65 percent. A year ago, 85 percent had been planted.
