ROCKFORD (OSF) -- For the 14th consecutive year OSF HealthCare has been ranked in the Top 100 IHNs among the nearly 600 integrated health care networks in the United States. Specifically, OSF HealthCare was ranked 30th by IMS, a health care informatics joint venture firm, as reported in the January 23rd issue of Modern Healthcare. Additionally on February 1st, Becker’s Hospital Review, a bimonthly publication offering up-to-date business and legal news and analysis relating to hospitals and health systems, included OSF HealthCare as one of its “61 Hospital Systems to Know.” OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center is one of seven hospitals run by OSF HealthCare.

IMS* has been ranking integrated systems since 1994 and this year’s Top 100 was chosen from nearly 600 non-specialty regional integrated health networks from around the country. The rating system analyzes each IHN’s performance level in the following categories: hospital utilization, financial stability, physician participation, services and access, contractual capabilities, out-patient utilization, integration and integrated technology. The eight categories consist of thirty-three weighted attributes that IMS has determined to be the key indicators for assessing the current and future success of an IHN.

Becker's Hospital Review** list of 61 Integrated Health Systems to Know showcases the wide variety and high caliber of services offered by some of the country's top integrated health systems. The health systems featured on this list have achieved a high level of integration as demonstrated through strong physician alignment. They also address the continuum of care through clinics, rehabilitation centers, psychiatric care facilities, medical groups, accountable care organizations and various other healthcare entities. As the healthcare industry moves from a fee-for-service model to a pay-for-performance system that focuses on quality patient care, these organizations have been at the forefront in providing access to an array of health services beyond direct patient care, such as pharmacies, educational opportunities, management companies and health plans.

These two national recognitions follow on the heels of OSF Healthcare System being selected in late December of last year as one of only 32 health systems in the country to participate as a Pioneer ACO by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
