It's one night most girls look forward to for years but with the economy so weak right now many teens are having to cut back on their prom expenses.
23 News Reporter Natalie Kaplan is here to tell us about a local organization, that's making it a whole lot easier and cheaper for girls to feel like a million bucks on the special night!
For so many high school girls prom night is a chance to get all dolled up and feel like a princess but with budgets tight these days, many teens and their parents can't afford to dish as much out for the big night.
That's why Barb Berman, opened up a Rockford chapter of Becca's closet. Hundreds of dresses have been donated and now any girl can walk in and with no questions asked pick out what she wants and take it home totally for free. They've got dozens of different sizes, colors, and styles, to make sure every girl walking in, walks out with something special.
Becca's Closet is located in the basement of the One In Christ Church on Parkview. Students can shop on Saturday morning's from 9 am to noon or if they'd rather do it privately, Berman will set up a private appointment.
