Flu Shot Season Nears; Local Clinic Listings
Walgreens says they're giving out fewer flu shots than normal this year, but that's not the case in Winnebago County.

ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- Walgreens says they're giving out fewer flu shots than normal this year, but that's not the case in Winnebago County.
The Health Department says they're on target compared to last year, but admits that the current streak of warm weather might be keeping people in summer mode--and flu concerns at bay.
There are also more providers giving flu shots this year than last year. Today CVS partnered with the Machesney Park Village Hall and some pharmacists say going out into the community makes a big difference.
Steve Johnson CVS Pharmacist "We had an increase because we're doing more of the off site clinics and I think that's very important to get to people. If you get to where the people are you can get everyone vaccinated."
So far four thousand shots have been given out in Winnebago County.
