Winnebago County targets at-risk groups
H1N1 flu shots will be available this week for children, caregivers and pregnant women in Winnebago County.

From the Winnebago County Health Department:
The Winnebago County Health Department has received a limited supply of the H1N1 injectable vaccine and will dispense it to priority groups who are at increased risk for flu and flu complications. The H1N1 vaccine clinics are by appointment only.
Starting on Monday, November 9, 2009, appointments can be made by calling 815-720-4006, or 815-720-4007. Appointments will be taken from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday, and will be made as long as vaccine is available.
The vaccine will be available for those who are in the following priority groups:
--Children 6 months through 35 months of age
--Pregnant women
--Household contacts and caregivers of children less than six months
--Those younger than 10 years of age should receive a second dose after 28 days.
Additionally, the department will start school vaccination clinics this week and schools will be served for as long as vaccine is available. When more vaccine is received, vaccination clinics will be re-scheduled to meet the remaining needs of these and other priority groups.
