OREGON (WIFR) -- Evergreen branches decorating Oregon’s downtown were donated by the Prairie Preservation Society of Ogle County (PPSOC) and were cut and hauled by Oregon high school students and their teacher, Justin Ebert.

Branches came from trees at Sand Ridge, the former Sinnissippi cut-it-yourself tree farm on south Daysville Rd. The property was purchased in 2010 by PPSOC, a non-profit group.

For people who enjoy choosing and cutting their own tree, PPSOC will sell Christmas trees from the property for the second year. They will be open beginning Friday, November 23, the day after Thanksgiving, and ending on December 23, weekends from 9 am - 4 pm, and weekdays from 12 noon - 4 pm. Long needled trees are priced at $30 and short needled at $40.

PPSOC is glad to have donated the branches and to help with this civic endeavor.
